Hands on Nashville provides volunteer opportunity that benefits Metro Schools

Does your child need an extracurricular to add to their resume? Or maybe you just want to give back to your community? Either way, Hands on Nashville (HON) has the perfect opportunity.

HON, one of Metro Schools’ community partners, has announced that volunteer registration is now open for this year’s Hand on Nashville Day.

Celebrating 25 years of service events benefiting Metro Schools, Hands on Nashville Day is one of HON’s signature events. It’s also Nashville’s largest annual day of community service. Last year, more than 1,500 people volunteered.

This year, HON volunteers will gather from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Sept. 24 to take part in projects at 25 Metro Schools. The volunteer projects range anywhere from planting gardens to painting murals.

At the center of this day is the idea that creating beautiful environments for the schools will positively affect how students feel about attending school every day. And enhancing the places where our students learn is something Metro Schools will always get behind.
