Winner! Middle school student wins school cafe art contest

Say hello to the artwork that will soon represent Metro school cafes across the city:

NS Winning Logo

Drawn by East Nashville Magnet School student Taylor Hogan, this artwork won the student design contest started last December. At a ceremony today, she was honored by Mayor Karl Dean, Dr. Jesse Register and Director of Metro Public Health Dr. Bill Paul.

In addition to honoring Taylor, all three took time to recognize the amazing work happening for child nutrition in Metro Schools. Metro cafes serve 91,000 meals every day out of 140 kitchens, all of it paid for by the USDA.

Congratulations, Taylor, and thank you to the hundreds of Nutrition Service employees and Metro Schools community partners who work hard every day to feed Nashville’s children.
