Croft Middle Design Students Perform at Nashville Zoo’s Historical Croft House
Have you ever visited the Nashville Zoo and wondered where the names “Grassmere” and “Croft Center” came from or what they mean? The answers to these questions can be found during a tour of the Grassmere Historic Home, located at the Historic Farm area of the Zoo.
Croft Middle Design students brought the Grassmere Historic Home to life on Friday, September 26. Students performed period reenactments, poetry, and live music depicting the era of the Historical Croft Home. Visitors to the Zoo were able to step back into time and experience life in a Middle Tennessee farm home. Five generations of family members lived at the home before it the land was given to the city and eventually become the Nashville Zoo. The home includes many original family artifacts.
