Record number of National Merit Scholar semifinalists in Metro Schools

It’s a record!

30 Metro students have been named National Merit Scholar semifinalists – almost double last year’s number!

They were chosen from among 1.4 million high school juniors who took the PSAT last year. That’s not a test everyone takes, so to score well enough to make it as a National Merit Scholar semifinalist is a huge accomplishment. In the spring, these students could win one of 7,700 National Merit Scholarships worth a combined $33 million.

Congratulations to these students, and good luck in the spring!
