Metro middle school students got to hear a firsthand account of history today. Ndileka Mandela, granddaughter of Nelson Mandela, stopped by McKissack, J.T. Moore and Wright Middle Preps while visiting Nashville. Ndileka spoke with students about the importance of education and continuing on the right path, both lessons she learned from her grandfather when she was a girl during his incarceration in South Africa. She shared that he would often ask her what she was learning in school and push her to keep reaching for her goals.

Ms. Mandela’s visit wasn’t just meant to inspire students. She is in Nashville asking for support for the Thembekile Mandela Foundation.
