Do you have what it takes to be a teacher? Apply for Nashville Teaching Fellows

Teaching FellowsMetro Schools is proud of its excellent teachers, but sometimes it can be challenging to fill open positions in certain subject areas and needs, particularly math, science and English learners.

Nashville Teaching Fellows is working to help overcome this challenge. A Metro Schools partner since 2009, NTF uses a highly selective process to recruit and train mid-career professionals and recent college graduates to become teachers in hard-to-staff areas. After the Fellows are chosen, they complete a rigorous summer-long training program, then are paired with an experienced coach that helps them throughout their first year of teaching.

NTF is currently recruiting for 2014. If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a teacher, please read about the program here. You can also refer a friend to the program here. The ideal NTF candidate is someone looking for a career change or fresh out of college who has the skills and knowledge to teach in high-need areas.

To be eligible, you must have a bachelor’s degree, but not hold a teaching certificate already. The application deadline is April 14.
