UPDATE: STEM teacher WINS school tech prizes from Samsung

UPDATE:
She won! Julie Hasfjord is Tennessee’s winner in the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow contest. She won for her “innovative approach to advancing STEM among her students, as well as making an impact in her community.”

Yes, that means Bailey STEM Magnet Middle wins $20,000 in technology from Samsung. It also means Julie moves on to the national competition in March, where she could win a technology package for her school worth $35,000 to $140,000.

Julie Hasfjord, STEM Teacher at Bailey STEM Magnet Middle, has been selected as one of the five state finalists for Tennessee in the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow contest. Julie was chosen because of her dedication to inspiring her students, improving her local community and fostering STEM education. Out of the more than 2,300 applications, hers was chosen as one of the five best in your state. She already has received two Samsung Galaxy Tabs to aid in classroom instruction!

She will now face off against four other schools for the State Winner position. Should she win, Bailey STEM Magnet Middle school will receive a video technology kit and a technology package valued at $20,000 from Samsung!
