Gifted education expert wants to talk with Metro parents
Many of the parents I’ve met in my time at Metro Schools are very eager to talk about gifted education. We’ve done a lot of work on our gifted programs in the last several years, and this year we welcomed a new Encore coordinator who quickly got to work improving the program.
Here’s another chance for parents to meet, talk and hear from an expert.
The Advanced Academics Department would like to invite parents to listen to and speak with Dr. Karen Rogers, an internationally recognized expert in gifted education and author of Re-Forming Gifted Education.
Dr. Rogers will address how parents can identify talents and gifts in their children and share ideas for meeting children’s unique needs. It’s a wonderful opportunity for parents of all stripes to talk about how we can best serve gifted students.
In addition to talking to parents, she will also spend two days working with our Encore teachers in professional development.
