Overton goes undefeated for the first time in 30 years
We love all of our high school teams, but we have to give it up for the Overton Bobcats.
They’ve had a hard fought season – including a very tough game against Antioch on Friday – but persevered. For the first time in 30 years, the Bobcats are undefeated. 10-0 and the District 12AAA championship.
“Tonight was the perfect example of a gritty season,” Overton coach Terry Anderson said. “We’ve had big wins and blowouts at times, but also games like tonight. Antioch challenged us and we expected to play a very physical game. But we knew when we have to play gritty, we’d be gritty.”

The Tennessean also has the state playoff brackets posted. That’s right. It’s time for the state tournament. Metro teams in the tourney are:
- East Nashville Magnet School
- Cane Ridge
Congratulations to all on a great season, and good luck in the tournament!
