Parent University rocks for more than 500 parents & students
A neighborhood power outage may have put them in the dark for a few minutes, but that couldn’t stifle the enthusiasm of the 500 (500!) parents and students who came to Parent University last Saturday.
Parent University is really the essence of parental involvement, with workshops on how to be more involved in your school, activities on youth safety, health screenings, meet and greets with local politicians and a whole lot more.
One grateful parent said:
“I’m the parent of a Metro student and a Parent Educator, and I got a lot out of Parent University. You (MNPS and all supporting partners) knocked it out of the park. Thank you for the work you put in!”
The event was AWESOME, even with the brief power outage. The whole thing just rocked. It’s a great resource for the parents, and we hope even more parents can come to the next conference.
Special thanks to Councilman Lonnell Matthews, Jr. who spoke to the crowd and Trevecca Nazarene University for hosting!
