Saluting Excellence: Two graduates in one

When is a graduate really two graduates? When she graduates from Middle College High School and Nashville State Community College at the same time.

These students all received their General Education Core Certificates from Nashville State last night and will receive their high school diplomas from Middle College on Monday.

  • Marsalis Pullen, Middle College Valedictorian graduating Magna Cum Laude – 45 hours earned
  • Christina Fonseca – 43 hours earned
  • Darius Gray – 42 hours earned
  • George Hutchison – 47 hours earned
  • Marijane Lavell – 42 hours earned
  • Paul Pippin – 45 hours earned
  • Mora Ward – 44 hours earned

So yes, it is possible to earn a college certificate before you are a high school graduate. And it’s mighty impressive.

Middle College High School graduates on Monday, May 20 at 6:00 p.m. at West End Middle School.
