It was just two weeks ago that “U.S. News and World Report” named Hume-Fogg and MLK the best high schools in Tennessee. Now the two schools are sitting on another big national list.

On the latest “Newsweek” list of America’s Best High Schools, Martin Luther King, Jr. Magnet School and Hume-Fogg Academic Magnet High School sit at numbers 70 and 71, respectively.

Schools were ranked based on:

  • on-time graduation rate
  • college acceptance
  • number of AP, IB and AICE exams taken
  • average SAT and/or ACT score
  • average AP,  IB and AICE exams scores
