Metro students perform at the Country Music Hall of Fame
On a beautiful stage at the Country Music Hall of Fame‘s Ford Theater, elementary and middle school students had a once in a lifetime opportunity: to sing songs they wrote alongside well-known singer-songwriters in Music City.
The Hall of Fame hosted Words & Music Night, the culmination of a program in several Metro schools that teaches both writing and music at the same time.
Words & Music offers an innovative approach to teaching language arts and music curriculum. This creative educational experience strengthens and builds confidence in writing and reading skills. Educators connect easily with the interdisciplinary lessons in the Words & Music Teacher’s Guide, a resource containing classroom activities that support core academic requirements and character education initiatives in all grade levels. Best of all, students enjoy the process of writing song lyrics.
Parents, teachers and music industry insiders came together for the concert performance earlier this week. It was definitely a night to remember!
