Another day, another major supporter of music education in Nashville

From a partnership with the Nashville Symphony & the Predators Foundation, a million-dollar donation from CMA, a student-run record label, music classes for all students – plus this this this and this – it’s a very good time for music in Metro Schools!

The latest evidence is a donation to Isaac Litton Middle School from the Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation. If you’re familiar with the film, you can probably guess the story.

The Foundation helps schools fund music programs by donating money and instruments. To help support Litton’s legendary band and music programs, the Foundation handed over instruments worth $19,000!

This is the third major donation to Metro music programs in just a few weeks. It’s proof positive that Music Makes Us is not only working, it’s a major success. Thanks to the leadership of Laurie Schell and the many, many music teachers in our schools, Metro students will have a well-rounded education that includes liberal doses of the arts.

Thank you to everyone who supports our schools, particularly music and the arts!
