Metro Encore Teacher Hopes to Inspire Families with Creative Message App

Looking for a creative way to spend quality time with your kids? Well one Metro teacher is determined to help families do just that.

Anne Armstrong, a teacher with the encore program, is competing in a free app design contest with her app, Time to Roam: 15-minute creative family adventures. The app helps families explore, create and connect, while also spending time together as a family and promoting reading and writing. Each day, the app will provide a message to inspire families with creative adventures that take 15 minutes or less.

“Its goal will be to encourage and inspire genuine moments of family engagement (gems),” said Ms. Armstrong. “The focus will be simple but creative ways for families to explore, create and connect, bringing a little magic to every day.”

To vote for Ms. Armstrong, go to http://www.lindseywcollins.com/vote-for-me/# and type in her name in the comment box at the bottom of the page. Voting ends Tuesday (July 1), so be sure to vote today! Good luck Ms. Armstrong!
